To Do Him Good

We are taking on an adventure in our life.
It is one that will require great faith on my part.
Faith is something that I struggle with sometimes.
But the Lord has been reminding me I will need . . .

Great faith in my Savior and
great faith in my husband.

Great faith that reminds I am the Lord's
and He has His eyes on us and our family.

Because of what we are being challenged in,
I am having to set my mind on the Lord's ways
and take every thought captive, more than I ever had to before.

There are days this is so hard for me.

The enemy is there crouching ready to pounce
when my heart goes to doubt.
He is there wanting me to tear down my husband
and not believe in the vision he has set for our family.

Even though fear comes over me at times
and there are moments I lose my breath from being scared,
I am finding great comfort in God's Word.

He is the ROCK to cling to when there is no other.

This morning I read this resolve.
It was written by a woman that obviously loved her husband,
but more importantly, she loved her Lord.
This is a woman I so desire to keep growing to be.

She resolved:

"To pray for [my husband],
to contribute all in my power to the good of his Soul
and to the peace and satisfaction of his mind,
to be careful of his health, of his interests,
of his children, and of his reputation;
 to do him all the good in my power;
 and next to my God,
to make it my study to please him."

This was PERFECT encouragement for today
as we head out for our first job.

My husband needs me to love him,
to believe in him and to stand by him,
no matter what happens,
and no matter where the Lord takes us
in this journey called life.

"I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."
Song of Solomon 6:3

  2. Love this.... and added the Eliza Pinckney quote to my commonplace book! Thinking about writing resolutions like Jonathan Edwards and this might have to be one of firsts. --Analisa
